February is almost over! Did you get a chance to "Spread the Love?"
Over 50 youth participated in our Random Acts of Kindness Week- Spread the Love. From compliments to heart attacks to writing notes to giving treats, our county received well over 400 random acts of kindness throughout the week. We hope you felt the love!! A huge thank you to IFA and Ideal Dairy who donated gift cards to everyone who participated in the Virtual Kindness Challenge.
Contest season is getting started. With the state contest in June and Nationals in October, we want to get started with four contests in our county in April: Favorite Foods, 4-H Cooking Challenge, Demonstrations, and FCS Bowl. Check out details below.
As always, please feel free to contact me at janette.wagner@usu.edu or 435-893-0478 with any questions or concerns.

FAVORITE FOODS:  Contestants  will  be  judged  on their  selection, knowledge  and presentation of  a  favorite  food. Contestants  should be  prepared  to discuss  the  favorite  food  – why  it’s  your  favorite, where  you got  the  recipes, any  special  techniques  used  in preparing  it,  history of this food,  and anything you’d like to share  about your  favorite  food.

Demonstrations: Giving a 4-H project demonstration can be fun! In a demonstration, you show and tell about a fact, idea, or process. You’ve probably given demonstrations in the past but didn’t know it. When you have learned how to do something in your 4-H project and then showed another club member, you gave a demonstration.

Opportunities from Utah State 4-H

TRY stands for Teens Reaching Youth and that's exactly what you'll be doing if you are selected to be on a TRY Team this year! To be on the team, you will get to attend training on Friday, March 19th from 6-9 pm and Saturday, March 20th from 10am- 5pm (may finish early) in the County Building at 250 N Main Street in Richfield. Then, you will work with your teammates and coach to plan 6 hours of activities for the youth in our county by August.  This is a great opportunity for 7-12th graders to gain experience in service, leadership, and teaching and presenting information.
Don’t think you are qualified?  The training will teach you skills and mini lessons to pass along to your peers and younger 4H youth. Everything will be provided for you and there is no cost other than filling out this form to help us know you a little better! Join us on a TRY team and make a difference today!!!
Want to learn more before applying? There is a question/answer Zoom planned for March 3rd at 7:00pm. Click here for the link: https://forms.gle/dh8JG95sGfavZudE7
