DANIEL WEBSTER PARK NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Funding for Daniel Webster Park has been entered into the State's 2021 capital outlay system as Project 1069. The purpose is to complete this park, phases 3 and 4.
Phase 3 is going to be the “active challenge” portion of park, with features that Officer Webster’s wife says that he would have liked the most (e.g. mini obstacle courses for kids), along with a small memorial area dedicated to Officer Webster. Phase 4 will have “nature play” elements that will be quite fun and bring features to the park that are not found in other City parks. It would be nice to get as much money as possible to finish the park this year, the 5th anniversary of Officer Webster’s death, to honor him and to provide for the children in the area.
South Los Altos Neighborhood Association's Board of Directors emailed letters last week to all State Senators and Representatives whose districts are in Bernalillo County asking that they allocate some of their funds to this Project 1069.
If you, too, support this, please call or email legislators. Any phone calls or emails should be made/sent this week as decisions will most likely be made by March 1. South Los Altos Neighborhood Association's Annual General Election meeting will be held via Zoom on February 24, 2021, at 6:30 PM. Elections will be held for several open Board seats.
