I would like to share a story of Barry with you today. He is one of the enthusiastic members of our Orange County Temple, Southern California.
Barry became a member because his mother introduced Happy Science to him. Actually, how his mother met Happy Science is very interesting ...
Barry’s mother, a 86-year-old current lives in Portland area in Oregon, has been a seeker of Truth for her whole life. Barry has also been a seeker because of the influence of his mother. He had studied all kinds of religions while he had been practicing "Transcendental Meditation" which is a method of meditation originated from Hinduism.
One day in 2013, Barry’s mother took a nap and when she awoke she happened to find an advertisement of The Law of the Sun on her iPad. She did not have any connection with Happy Science at that time. She had never heard of it, but was intrigued by the title and ordered the book.
“It must be a miracle done by the will of God!”, she thought.
When she received the book, she opened the book immediately. She felt so much spiritual power flowing from it as soon as she started reading. She realized something incredible was happening. She decided to order several more books. She contacted her son, Barry and her other children to tell them that they must read it. Barry felt his mother’s excitement. He started reading Master Okawa's books eagerly.
He told me that all the spiritual knowledge he had learned was deeply integrated in Master Okawa's books. He felt that the complicated spiritual information was organized in a very simple and concise way. The information reached into his the depths of his heart.

He contacted Happy Science LA temple since he wanted to learn more. Then he attended the Sunday service there.
“I met Bob, the minister of the LA temple in 2013, who gave me an excellent impression of this group. Bob made me feel comfortable and that this group was trustworthy. I could not believe that he took his time every week to explain to me about the basic teachings of Happy Science. Furthermore, he gave me all the answers to my questions whenever I asked him anything. That was a great honor for me.”
Three month after reading The Law of the Sun, he became a devotee. He has been an active member since then.
I asked him how he liked The Law of the Sun.
He said, “Reading and truly resonating with the teaching on ‘the stages of love’ was captivating especially the Love of a Savior! Everyone who is responsible for the care of others needs to understand and reflect on these teachings. All the people who are concerned with education, parents and teachers, should learn them. The teachings should be taught in public education."
“It is such fun to imagine in which ancient civilization my soul could have incarnated in my past life. I am fascinated with the time of Atlantis and that of Buddha.”
He wears a T-shirt printed with the main concept and book cover of The Law of the Sun, that reads "One source, One planet, One people." He was inspired to make this T-shirt for missionary activities. He distributed the t-shirts among the local Sangha members to wear while spreading The Laws of the Sun in the community.
This brilliant idea is helping to spread the truth by attracting new members, whom hearts' resonate with "One Source, One Planet, One People."
