How do you tell your story in the Lord?

On Sunday mornings, we are growing in our view of all of Scripture by reading portions during the week and then gathering with questions and discussion for 45 minutes on Sunday.

Here's a link to the presentation on 1&2 Kings from the last two weeks.

This week's reading is a skimming of 1 & 2 Chronicles. (!)

The Chronicles were written later than any other part of the Old Testament. It's the great storytelling summary of the Old Testament that starts with Adam (at least in genealogy form) and focuses on how God keeps his promises of mercy to his people.

Sunday School: Matthew 2: Jesus Kept Safe from King Herod

This Sunday reminds us that kings and powers do not have as much control as they think they do. Evil things that happen in our lives do not have the power we give them. The Lord is our refuge and strength. He is always our present help in trouble and the one who delivers us in his way and his when and his where.

An email put together by Renae Belobraydich has been going out to parents of Sunday schoolers for home use if they can't make it on Sundays.

Catechism Refresher

Last Sunday, we looked at the last three commandments and how God protects a person's reputation and provides for us. James 3 was a powerful reminder of the damage the tongue can do. And the commandments about coveting what others have open the door to talk about what we already have in Christ and finding contentment in him.

Let's Pray About This (Psalm 119:25-28)

Heavenly Father, I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word. I recounted my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees. Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders. My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. Amen.
