The veins swelled on Peter’s arms as he rowed against the waves. Annoying – that’s what it was. He had advised against going on this crazy journey from the very beginning but the Master… Well, sometimes, he didn’t listen. Peter knew the Sea of Galilee very well, and it was obvious that tonight was not the best time to make a crossing. It would be so much better to wait for the dawn.
The clouds darkened, and Peter shook his head, answering Andrew’s silent doubts. Men bit their lips, fighting against the wind. The boat swung on the rising waves, and the heavy rain cut deeply into their exposed arms.
How was it possible that the Master slept so peacefully in the stern of the fishing boat? Maybe the man knew everything about the Kingdom of God, Peter recalled Master’s recent words on the mustard seed, but he lacked basic knowledge of reading weather conditions on the sea.
The boat swung again, filling with water. Peter fastened the oar and grabbed a bucket to get rid of the dangerous ballast. He threw an angry gaze towards the man sleeping in the stern.
