Bone cancer research funded
Bone cancer treatments will be progressed thanks to the Victorian Cancer Agency Early Career Fellowship, which has been awarded to Dr Vijesh Vaghjiani, Postdoctoral Scientist, Developmental and Cancer Biology Research group. Dr Vaghjiani has been awarded $330,000 from 2021 to 2023 to support his research which seeks to improve the lives of patients, most of whom are children and adolescents, with a type of bone cancer known as osteosarcoma.

Statewide radiotherapy services
Cancer Services and Information at the Department of Health have launched a new Statewide Radiotherapy services website. This site includes information about the radiotherapy machines, a link to clinical indications and a referral link to each institution's web referral portal. The first of the statewide Radiotherapy services has now commenced clinical operation.

It has been 12 months since Cabrini Health sat down with ovarian cancer patient Leane Flynn and spoke about the meaning of hope. The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowship Program - Now Open
 In 1998 L'Oréal and UNESCO founded the For Women in Science program to promote and highlight the critical importance of ensuring greater participation of women in science. Each year, the program recognises the achievements of exceptional female scientists at different stages of their careers and awards them with Fellowships to help further their research.
Each Fellow is awarded $25,000 for a one year project. Applications close Monday 1 March.

Share your cancer care telehealth experiences with us
Cancer Council Victoria is working with health services across Victoria and Deakin University researchers to understand what cancer patients and their carers think of telehealth. This work aims to find out what patients  and carers think is good about telehealth, what isn’t working for patients and how telehealth services can be improved.
People who have experienced telehealth as part of their cancer management in 2020-2021 are asked to provide feedback through 30 minute interviews

Ex-Med Cancer face-to-face services
E x-Med Cancer is a safe and effective program specifically designed for people with cancer, designed to counteract the adverse effects of cancer and its treatment. It involves an individualised exercise medicine program delivered by experienced exercise physiologists in local fitness centres.
Face-to-face services delivered in community gyms recommenced on 15 February 2021, however Ex-Med cancer will continue to offer video and telephone consultations for people who prefer telehealth services. Find out more »
