1st International Conference on Moisture in Buildings (ICMB21) update

We are very pleased that for this first event we have received an incredible amount of interest. Following a rigorous peer review process, around 90 outstanding contributions were accepted for oral and poster presentations! Watch the conference website for the programme.

In response to many requests we received we also extended the early bird window for the conference registrations. Visit https://bit.ly/3d9enPP until 15 March to register at a reduced rate, and join us on 28-29 June for the event! Details of the keynotes, poster award and publications will follow on the conference webpages.

New collaboration with Ghent University

The UKCMB affiliate doctoral researchers met with the hygrothermal modelling group at Ghent University (Belgium) for a sharing seminar on the 5th February 2021. Doctoral researchers and academics from University College London presented their work on the moisture response of internally insulated walls under current and future climates, water-repellent treatments for solid and cavity walls, and resilience of heritage infrastructure and cities to environmental hazards. The hygrothermal modelling group at Ghent University, led by Prof Nathan Van Den Bossche, presented their research on characterisation of water-repellent treatments, moisture migration in historic masonry, and hygrothermal performance of the building envelope and heritage constructions subject to climate change. This seminar has laid the foundations for an international collaboration with the UKCMB, University College London and Ghent University.
