Reduce your impact.
Ways to Go Green

Go green on St. Patrick's Day and every day. There are a number of ways to reduce your impact on the environment. Here are some choices to consider:
  • Conserve water.
  • Consider biking, walking, carpooling, or taking public transportation.
  • Reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle right.
  • Save energy.
  • Start a compost pile.
  • Stop junk mail.
  • Telework.
We all can make a difference.

The Ugly Truth About Litter

It costs an estimated 11.5 billion dollars to clean up litter in the United States each year. Not only is litter  costly to clean up, it is harmful to wildlife, it impacts local communities and economic development, and eventually ends up in our streams, tributaries, rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay.  Be part of the solution by disposing of trash properly. Contact your local litter program manager or Keep Virginia Beautiful for more ways to  help keep roads, parks, schools, and waterways clean and litter free. Make a "No Love for Litter" Pledge with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  #donttrashcentralvirginia
