Neighborhood Sidewalk Safety
It's time to check those sidewalks, Lowry! One of the things our community residents most love is how walkable Lowry is. Safe, smooth sidewalks help keep the neighborhood accessible and enjoyable for all. Sidewalks adjacent to the property are the responsibility of the property owner, per City of Denver ordinance; LCMA guidelines follow the city municipal code. Please check your sidewalks for cracks or other potential hazards. While repairs and maintenance are the responsibility of the property owner, the City of Denver has a Neighborhood Sidewalk Repair Program to help you through the process. Notably, the City has recently changed policy to provide affordability discounts to property owners who qualify, and to allow previously prohibited repair methods such as grinding and crack filling. If you need to address damage, cracks, root growth, or other sidewalk problems, check out the Neighborhood Sidewalk Repair Program for how and where to start. You can also ask for recommendations from your neighbors on NextDoor, or find a licensed contractor through the City. If you encounter a dangerous sidewalk, you can report it to 311.

8th Ave Traffic Calming. Councilwoman Amanda Sawyer and the surrounding neighborhood organizations are working with neighborhood groups, residents, and Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure to improve 8th Ave between Colorado Boulevard and Quebec Street.
