Events in local sustainability this March

Green drinks
Not yet!
But one of these days we will be back to our Thursday night gatherings.
We have spent some time recently updating our website - we have the monthly calendar (when there is one...), a news blog, photos, a review of 2020, an archive of our column written between 2013-2018.  And there are always up to date tweets.  It all makes great reading for those long evenings stuck in the house!

Farm days

It's spring! There's lots to do!

A small group of us has been keeping things going, meeting on Sunday afternoons at around 2pm.

This will continue at least for the next few Sundays at the Community Farm or the Community Orchard in Poundbury

2pm onwards

There is always a lot to do - pruning trees, getting the beds ready for planting, digging and spreading compost.

The site is large and it is easy to socially distance.  Email us if you'd like to come along.

Tree planting
In total in 2020, we planted over 2000 trees!  We received trees from the Woodland Trust, The Conservation Volunteers (TCV), and grants from the Town Council and the Tree Council with which we bought more trees.

Many thanks to everyone who helped us to plant these trees, both last season and this one, and to those who watered them during the long dry summer - it has been a fantastic effort!

We need to plant 1.5 billion trees in the UK to help tackle climate change!
