FACTS LMS How To Guide

Please refer to this tutorial for instructions on how to access and use our LMS. Thanks to Mrs. Bowman for creating this How To Guide for us!
Black History Challenge

Do you know this American entrepreneur?

This woman created a line of hair products after suffering from a scalp ailment that resulted in her own hair loss. She promoted her products by traveling around the country giving demonstrations. This inventor and entrepreneur was one of the first American women to become a self-made millionaire.

The first 2 MS and 2 HS students to bring Mrs. Palazola the name of this person and an additional fact about her will get an out of uniform day on Thursday, March 4.

Today's winners:
Damian M
Elizabeth A
Jack R
Nathan G

Winners from Feb 12 will also get an out of uniform day on March 4:
Elizabeth A
Brian O
DJ B

Congratulations to all our participants! On Friday we'll have a prize drawing for all students who submitted a Black History Challenge in February.

COVID Testing

We are pleased to offer free rapid COVID testing for staff and students at Concord with support from the TN Department of Health. A DocuSign permission form was sent out right after the holiday break. If you need the form to be sent again just reach out to Mrs. Palazola. Please see the COVID-19 Testing FAQ document here for more information. Contact Mrs. Palazola with any questions or concerns at cpalazola@concord-academy.org or 901-682-3115.

School Safety Updates

The city-wide water boil directive was lifted this afternoon. We have had a water cooler available since the beginning of the school year for students to fill their water containers, so they are not using tap water for this purpose. All this week we have instructed students to sanitize their hands after washing them, and sanitizing stations are available at multiple points along the hallways, including in close proximity to our restrooms, as well as in classrooms and the front office.

Phase 1b opened this week, meaning teachers and school staff are eligible to get a Covid vaccine. Concord teachers and staff are signed up at various sites, mostly thanks to an outstanding effort by our independent schools group, MAIS, in getting sites specifically for independent schools staff.

Please continue to monitor your student for symptoms each day before coming to school, and keep them at home if they or anyone in your household is sick with any symptom that could be Covid-related.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Cece Palazola, Executive Director, at cpalazola@concord-academy.org or 901-682-3115.

We are committed to evidence-based action.

We are committed to the health and safety of our students and families.

We are committed to transparency.
IMPORTANT: Please contact the school immediately if you know or suspect that your child has Covid-19 symptoms, has tested positive, or has been in close contact someone with symptoms or a positive test result.

NO PHONE ZONE!

School Cell Phone Policy

Student cell phones, smart watches, fitness trackers, and other electronic devices are not allowed on campus. Exceptions can be arranged on an individual basis if there is a need (medical monitoring, student drives/walks to school, etc.)

Students were recently reminded of this policy. Students found to have an unauthorized device on campus will receive a detention.

IN-PERSON OR REMOTE LEARNING

Remote learning is an option for those who have health and safety concerns due to Covid 19. We want to provide as much flexibility as possible for our families, while also giving consideration to teachers' planning and preparation, so we are asking families to choose a learning path for each quarter of the school year.

Please use the form at this link if making a change your choice of in-person or virtual learning path for your child by the following dates:

Fourth Quarter - by March 4
