Last Week Didn’t Stop Us

After the cold, snowy, and icy weather of last week, we want to share how grateful we are to live and work with people who consistently do whatever is necessary to take care of one another. Last week didn’t stop us - Recovery Is Always Happening Here.

Our volunteers called each other to keep the online meetings available for anyone who was able to call in or connect. Our Peer Leadership Academy training team provided online peer recovery coach training. Staff reached out to peers and each other to check-in and do what they could to help.

In the community, people shoveled snow, delivered water, opened their homes, shared firewood, food, and batteries. Everyone did their best to stay connected during this time of crisis. A smile, supportive comment, listening ear, and sense of humor helped many get through the struggles of last week.

Above all, we want to thank the health care workers, first responders, city and county workers, and utility workers who were out in the cold keeping us safe.

We know last week was difficult, and its impact did not end when the snow melted. Please give us a call 512-758-7686, email or check out our website if you would like to talk with a coach or attend a meeting.

Moving Towards Your Highest Potential

Wellness is described as a conscious, self-directed and evolving process of achieving our full potential.

It is multi-dimensional, holistic, positive and affirming. It is a process of becoming aware and making choices towards a more successful existence. It is choice, a process and efficient channeling of energy towards an integration of body, mind and spirit. It is a loving acceptance of self.

In my own personal path of sustained recovery, it became my passion to enhance my life in positive ways.

Becoming a Better Version of Myself!

“S.H.I.N.E. has really helped me in multiple areas of my life

First, it has made me more aware of my thoughts, behaviors and attitudes. It has also helped my recovery by connecting with like-minded human beings, and they say the opposite of addiction is connection!”

The Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) will provide Peer Recovery Support Services acting as a mentor and guide for those seeking or sustaining recovery. Through the process of coaching, the PRC promotes recovery by helping a peer remove barriers, connect to the recovery community and engage in supportive services. Coaching offers a unique opportunity to build relationships of equality, trust and confidence in which a PRC values each peer’s individual beliefs and supports them in mapping out a self-directed journey towards recovery.
