After the cold, snowy, and icy weather of last week, we want to share how grateful we are to live and work with people who consistently do whatever is necessary to take care of one another. Last week didn’t stop us - Recovery Is Always Happening Here.
Our volunteers called each other to keep the online meetings available for anyone who was able to call in or connect. Our Peer Leadership Academy training team provided online peer recovery coach training. Staff reached out to peers and each other to check-in and do what they could to help.
In the community, people shoveled snow, delivered water, opened their homes, shared firewood, food, and batteries. Everyone did their best to stay connected during this time of crisis. A smile, supportive comment, listening ear, and sense of humor helped many get through the struggles of last week.
Above all, we want to thank the health care workers, first responders, city and county workers, and utility workers who were out in the cold keeping us safe.
We know last week was difficult, and its impact did not end when the snow melted. Please give us a call 512-758-7686, email or check out our website if you would like to talk with a coach or attend a meeting.
