AssalamAlaikum Parents of 8th to 12th Grade Students,

I pray that you and your families are doing well. Having the students on campus actively participating with their teachers and enjoying the company of their friends is truly heartwarming for us to see as educators. Because of the ongoing safety practices in place, along with the regular monitoring and follow up of the cleaning and sanitizing procedures, Alhamdulillah we have been able to maintain a safe environment for all.

The school has actively worked to take additional measures to secure vaccinations for the IFS employees. The first dose was administered earlier this month and the 2nd dose is scheduled to be administered on Monday March 1st . For this reason, there will be NO on campus or live instruction for March 1st. Teachers will be posting assignments for students to complete independently. We pray that there are no side effects for any of the individuals as we plan to resume live and on campus instruction starting Tuesday, March 2nd.

We hope that with the IFS staff being vaccinated, we have taken all the necessary safety measures available to us and feel confident in reopening the campus for ALL our students. We already have students in grades KG to 7th attending on campus classes and would now like to invite the 8th to 12th grade students, starting Monday, March 8th. Please note that parents will continue to have the option of choosing either the on-campus instruction OR the remote learning option.

To safely be on campus, all parents must complete the following:

1) Sign and return the waiver by clicking the following link Waiver Agreement. This must be completed only once and returned by Monday, March 1st to Ms. Asma Khatoon at akhatoon@ifsvp.org.
2) Students MUST either take a recent COVID 19 test within 72 hours of Saturday, March 6th and submit the negative results to Ms. Asma Khatoon at akhatoon@ifsvp.org by March 6th.

OR

Complete the health screening form daily for five consecutive days from March 3rd until March 8th by clicking the following link Student Health Screening Form. This form can also be found on the school website at www.ifsvp.org.

To provide parents an opportunity to better understand the rollout procedure for on campus instruction as well as address any questions that you may have, we will be holding an informational webinar on Tuesday, March 2nd from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm. A registration link was shared in an email that was sent to all 8th to 12th grade parents on Friday, February 26th . Please check your email and sign up only once per family. Once the registration is completed, the log in details will be emailed to you.

Please make certain to carefully review this weekly newsletter for additional information about the arrival and dismissal procedure, the supplies that will be needed, as well as other relevant information. We are eager to have our students return to the campus to resume their daily schedules and we will work to make the transition as easy as possible. Please contact me if you have any questions at fsiddiqui@ifsvp.org.

Sincerely,
Farhat Siddiqui
Interim Principal

Alhamdullilah all 24 of our 8th Grade students have successfully passed their Federal Constitution Test!  With the guidance of their Civics instructor, Ms. Wafa Othman, the support of their families, and their own hard work and efforts, the 8th Graders are now one step closer to meeting their graduation requirements.  Congratulations to IFS staff, teachers, parents, and students on this achievement.

The second part of the test, the State Constitution Test, will take place on-campus the week of March 22nd.  More information will be provided closer to the actual date.

Having our 8th graders on campus was such a treat!  The students were able to interact with their teachers, socialize and eat a snack with their classmates, and take a tour of the building and classrooms.  InshaAllah these glimpses into a typical day on campus will entice the students to return to school as in-person learners!
