This is a DRGR update regarding geographic datasets used for compliance purposes with Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) grant requirements.

In preparing to update Low-Mod data in DRGR, HUD recently discovered the existing Low- and Moderate-Income Summary Datasets displayed in DRGR have been mislabeled. Presently, DRGR is displaying the 2000 Decennial Census as 2010 American Community Survey (ACS) and the ACS 2006-2010 as 2015 ACS.

A data correction will be implemented to go live on March 8, 2021 to correct this labeling. After the correction, labeling will be displayed as follows:

Following this update, HUD recommends that grantees with Area Benefit (Census) activities under active grants with a status of “planned” or “underway” should check these activities to see if the appropriate dataset was used. If not, then grantees may need to reselect the correct dataset and re-calculate the low mod percentage.
