What are we thinking about this week?

Exhibition gallery at the RISD Museum.

How do we "read pictures?"

HIAA graduate student Kuan-Hung Liu co-curated an exhibition Text, Paratext, and Images with RISD alum Kimia Rahnavardi that runs through June 19, 2021 at the RISD Museum.

Kuan-Hung writes, "the exhibition focuses on the relationship between text and images, and how paratext could influence the way we read pictures. The sections in the exhibition are organized based on the processes used from the creation to the circulation and interpretation of the objects, as well as their materials. Besides their rich paratext and context, these images are also open for new interpretations and connections."
