Easy Strategies to Teach Your Kids Math at Home

Yes/No Math Game

This is a simple math game that children love in classrooms. It’s also a good way to get in practice of 2d shapes and 3d shapes, which as parents we can sometimes avoid.

What you need to play:

Cue cards/pieces of paper

How to play:

Step 1: Both players draw a card and exchange it with each other without looking contents. It could have a number on it, a shape, etc.

Step 2: The first player asks a question that can only be answered with “yes” or “no”. Example: “Am I even?” “Am I under 15?” “Do I have 3 sides?” etc.

Step 3: Each player will ask questions until they get the answer correct, or they run out of turns (you can set the number of turns they get at the beginning of the game). After this, the next player takes their turn.
