EASTSIDE NEWS
DO YOU HAVE THE X-FACTOR?

Eastside Community Heritage is seeking to recruit volunteers to join out dynamic board of Trustees. Become a part of ensuring that ‘ordinary’ people’s histories are brought to light for future generations.

Over the past 22 years Eastside has worked on numerous projects recording, documenting and persevering the lives of Londoners. In 1999 we established an oral history archive which now holds over 4000 recordings. We are going through an exciting time of change within the organisation and are about to embark on museum accreditation.

We are looking to recruit 2 - 4 new trustees with experiences in the following areas:

Museums/Galleries/Heritage sector
Community Sector
Finance
Personnel
Fundraising
Change Management

Draw up a chair Project

We are very excited to be working with schools in Redbridge, Newham and Barking and Dagenham, with our Draw Up a Chair project. The workshops are based on the award-winning book, "The Boy at the Back of the class" written by the author Onjali Q. Raúf.

Becoming Becontree
To celebrate one hundred years of the Becontree estate in Barking & Dagenham, we will be creating an online exhibition to celebrate the estates centenary.

New Project Officer
Hello everyone, my name is Andrea Dodd, I am the new Project Officer at Eastside Heritage Community. I believe an archive can help build a strong sense of community and help foster a greater sense of an individual's identity and create intergenerational dialogue. I am very excited to join Eastside Community Heritage.
