How to join in this Sunday on Zoom… or at home

This Sunday we are going to be jumping right into the middle of Mark’s account of Jesus’ life, death, and new life… to the point where it seems like the penny has finally dropped, and Peter’s twigs who Jesus really is…

except, he still hasn’t quite got it!

Like us, Peter so often clings to the bits he wants to, without taking on board the full reality - both the challenge and the wonderous glory - of what it really means to follow Jesus - the Messiah AND Suffering Son of Man.

So do dip into our YouTube Playlist, or come for the full interactive experience on Zoom, as we ask Big Questions about WHO Jesus really is… and what it means to “take up our cross and follow him”

What to bring

If you are coming to our Zoom you might like to bring - but you only need to bring yourself!

  • 7 candles (to continue our Lenten countdown)

  • materials to make crosses (see below)

  • the button from your lent-at-home pack

  • your Pilgrim’s script (if you made one)

  • craft materials (play doh/paper/pens/etc) if you want to join our multisensory prayer-writing breakout room

  • pen and paper if you want to join our prayer-writing breakout room - or ponder off screen by yourself for a while

  • a snack to munch on. Why not try the Kidney Bean Chocolate Cake Kirsty shared with us the other week? [Optional!]

Ideas for crosses

We’ve said that we see this walk towards Easter together as something of a Pilgrimage. Many ancient pilgrims would carry a cross as a reminder and symbol of their faith – ranging from a simple wood to precious stones. The cross might be worn around the pilgrim’s neck, others may be hidden away in the pilgrim’s scrip or bag, away from prying eyes. The Lent-book includes several ways to make a cross, including one in the Pilgrim Crafts section that involves cutting out a cardboard shape and wrapping wool around it.

Why not bring your resources into our Zoom on Sunday, and work on them as we reflect together?
