Creative Writing Conference

On March 4th and 5th, the Creative Writers attended #AWP21, the annual Association of Writers and Writing Programs writing conference. Due to COVID, the entire conference was virtual this year, giving the department the opportunity to take all students on a "virtual field trip."

Writers attended panels of their choosing, ranging from discussions of craft to readings from renowned writers to lectures on aspects of writing that they didn't yet know existed. In a conference targeted to undergraduate, graduate, and adult writers, the BISFA writers were some of the only high school students in attendance and Mrs. Anderson and Ms. Fishow were so proud and impressed at the caliber of questions and discussion students engaged in within the platform chat.

The department would like to say "THANK YOU!" to the BISFA Foundation for the grant that allowed the department to attend this conference. It was truly an incredible opportunity!
