The Innerkip United Church Leadership Team has made the decision to continue with on-line worship at this time.
If we are able to return to in-person worship you will be notified at least one week before the services begin.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
“Coffee & Contemplation” - a Zoom Gathering
Spiritual Nurture During Lent
You are invited to join Pastor Karen every Thursday morning during Lent for a time of conversation and contemplation of scripture.
Lent is a season of unfolding honesty and truth-telling about our lives and our world.
It is an intentional journey where we “step away” and make space for God. Each week we will consider a passage from scripture and explore how it speaks into our lives today.
So pour yourself a coffee (or tea) and join Karen on Zoom at 10 a.m. Thursday mornings for the next three weeks. Join in every Thursday or whenever you can. There’s always a place for you “at the table”.
Scripture passages we will consider (if you wish to read them in advance) are:
March 18th: Psalm 119: 9-16
March 25th: Psalm 118: 12, 19-29
April 1st: John 13: 1-17, 31b - 35
Topic: Coffee & Contemplation
Time: Mar 18, 2021 10:00 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
Please contact Mel in the Church office if you would like information on how to call in by telephone if you cannot join through Zoom (Long distance charges may apply).
Be a Part of the Service
Please let Mel know if you are interested in doing a Scripture Reading for a Sunday worship service. Its easy to do and its nice to hear new voices each week!
Pastor Karen would like to have more people from the congregation be involved in worship services.
If you are interested in contributing photos, videos, readings or poems please email Pastor Karen.
Brenda was close to nine months pregnant and living in a tent. She and her partner Gail couldn’t find housing they could afford. In Hamilton, Ontario, the waiting list for subsidized housing is long – for some, over ten years. With no other options, Brenda and Gail moved into a homeless encampment. Staff at Wesley Urban Ministries, a Mission & Service partner, found them a temporary place to stay. Because they don’t have stable housing, their baby was put in custody. But their story doesn’t end there. Your Mission & Service gifts support Wesley’s Day Centre where 100 homeless people like Brenda and Gail find help each day.
