Dear Friends,
Fırat Şahin will share his two-year-long Bodrum - Cape Horn (Chile) sailing boat trip from 2016 in a Turkish presentation.
Fırat Şahin is a manager currently working in the automotive industry. He had no sailing experience before this trip. He took a two-year break amid the fast pace of the business world and sailed to the South American continent, starting from Bodrum Turgutreis, crossing the Mediterranean and then the Atlantic Ocean. During this voyage, he took part in the crossing of the Cape Horn known as the End of the World and referred to as the Sailors’ Everest. The crossing took place on March 2, 2016, on the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the island of Cape Horn by Dutch sailors and he was among the crew of the second ever sailboat from Turkey to accomplish this feat. He published parts of his travels in Köşebucak Dünya and Naviga magazines.
We would like to invite you all to our conversation for this interesting story. Our conversation will be held on Sunday, March 14th at 12:00 pm ET (19:00 UTC) under the moderation of Yüksel Taşkın.
