The AAG March meeting was held this past Monday, March 8 at the Aiken Center for the Arts. We hope everyone who joined in person or via the Zoom link enjoyed the presentation by Matthew Cornell. Driving home was a new experience for me as I began to notice all manner of interesting scenes lit by street lamps and lights in windows - even the Holly building right out the front door of the art center backlighting the bare trees along the street. Apparently I’ve been missing out on these really cool night scenes!

Please see the member show page on the AAG website for more show details and to sign up online.
To support the ACA publicity campaign for the member show, we need to collect some photographs of art that members are sure they will be exhibiting. Please send a single JPEG of an item you are sure you will be entering into the show to: kareysantos@gmail.com In the subject line, include: “Art for member show”.
The judge for this year’s member show will be Jacki Mayo Van Dyke. Jacki is a multidisciplinary artist active in the CSRA and particularly in downtown Augusta. She has participated in exhibits at the Gertrude Herbert, Westobou gallery, as well as many local businesses, twice received the Porter Fleming Foundation award and twice been a regional semifinalist for the Bombay Artisan Series Contest showing work at the ZuCot and Mason Galleries in Atlanta. Jacki enjoys painting live during Arts in the Heart with the Artzilla group, and offering mentorship to others branching out, wanting to share their work with our wonderful community. Some of her work and full CV can be viewed at www.fullmetaljacki.com
Also, note that you will need to be an up-to-date member of the guild in order to participate in the show.

The ACA main gallery’s next exhibition will feature:
One artist celebrating The Friends of Hopelands and Rye Patch will be AAG member Brooks Brown.
Brooks will be submitting two digital photographs using her signature artograph style. She's thrilled to be given this opportunity to exhibit her artworks by being a member with both "AAG" and "ACA". She first was introduced to Hopeland Gardens in December of 2018 and was immediately enamored by it's winter elegance as you'll see in her Quintessential Hopeland Gardens' piece. She's returned on several occasions and her second entry represents more of a summer feel in the Hopeland Gardens' Archways.
