2021 Bladez Registrations Due

It has been terrific to see the Bladez kids enjoying sessions this year!

Many thanks to those of you who have already registered for 2021, either full year or term one. If you have not yet done so, club registration is now due.

Registration

A RegisterNow link is available for annual or term Cavs membership. Registration of membership is due this month. All registration fees include a small fee from RegisterNow. Depending on fencer age, you may see the option to choose between Junior or Bladez registration. Make sure you choose Bladez if you are in Scott's 1:30 Saturday sessions.

Fencing WA Affiliation
As discussed in Bladez sessions, Fencing WA (or equivalent) affiliation is compulsory to be able to fence in WA, including for insurance purposes. You will need your FWA affiliation receipt number to register for Cavs.

In case you have not set it up yet, an affiliation RegisterNow link including information about affiliation types and costs is available from the FWA website. To avoid headaches, we recommend registering for FWA first and saving the receipt number, then logging out of RegisterNow before registering for Cavs.

When registering for Cavs, all you need to do is enter your FWA receipt number into the online club registration form when prompted. FWA affiliation is an annual fee so if you are paying for term one, you won't need to worry about FWA in future 2021 terms.

KidSport
Feel free to look into KidSport, which is a government organisation that provides vouchers towards sport club fees for eligible children. Cavaliers is a KidSport approved club.

Equipment and competitions
Bladez registration includes equipment hire, so there is no need to organise additional hire. FWA competitions come up throughout the year, including for under-13s. If your child is entering one, make sure you speak to your coach a couple of weeks ahead of time about entry and borrowing competition equipment for it.

Cavs holds handicap competitions regularly throughout the year, and Bladez fencers are welcome to join in once they have some fencing experience under their belt. Again, speak to your coach about competitions if you are interested. Cavs foil handicaps, when scheduled, start at 1pm on Saturdays and typically run later than Bladez sessions.

Dates for club handicaps are printed on a list inside equipment cabinet doors, as are FWA competition dates. FWA competitions are also listed on the FWA website.

Bladez Trial
If you are trying out Bladez for the first time, you do not need to register yet. We will organise a two-week trial on your arrival.

All the best for a wonderful year of Bladez fencing in 2021!
