Hello, everyone!
Circles take center stage this week! Circular Momentum, above, is one of my favorite quilts and it is all about circles. Amazingly, I needle-turned all of those circles but if I were doing it again, I would probably use either Applipops or Perfect Circles (or both) to prepare the circles. You will see this quilt behind me during Time Out... more on that below.
You can find the pattern for Circular Momentum in the Quilt A New Christmas eBook.

Last week I shared ideas about how to mark a quilt top for quilting. There are lots of options but once you think it through, it is easier to decide what will work for you.

Today, March 17, at 2:00 CST take a time out to see how the Applipops and Perfect Circle tools are used to make really round circles with turned-under edges.

Applipops... I wish I had thought of them!
Watch today's Time Out to see how to prepare circles with turned-under edges using Applipops. If you are like me, you will want to add them to your tool kit. They are different from the Perfect Circle templates in that you don't have to sew the running stitch around the circle. I use circle tools for machine appliqué more than for hand applique and I'm sure that I will use both Applipops and Perfect Circles in the future.
I am stocking the Applipops Plus Pack which includes 2 full sets of rings to make 8 different circle sizes: 0.375”, 0.5”, 0.75”, 1”, 1.25”, 1.5”, 1.75”, 2”. While one circle is heating under the iron, you can prepare another circle of the same size.

A Wonderful Pin Cushion
If a picture is worth a 1000 words, how many more is a video worth? So many more :-).

Folktale Pin Cushion, super cute and very useful.
|

I didn't intend to keep one of these, but I really do need one! There is a story behind this pin cushion—a Japanese folktale about a very very small boy. So cute, and so functional.
We have some in stock will try and get more, but I can't promise.

Wednesday Giveaway
This week I'm giving away a Sewline Trio Fabric Pencil. It comes with white, black (or graphite), and pink 'leads'. I would replace the pink with a 2nd white refill because I'm not a fan of colored lines, but that's me :-). It is handy to have white and graphite in the same pencil.
Click here to go to my blog, and leave a comment/reply on the blog post to enter the drawing. A winner will be chosen by the random number generator tomorrow.
