Boathouse Reminders
  • Members must abide by the LWRC Membership Handbook. We are currently updating or clarifying a few of our policies. A new handbook will be out soon.
  • LWRC members can row in singles. Doubles and Triples can be used by quarantined and vaccinated pods. Keep your pod small to avoid infections at the boathouse. Read statement from the Board released October 2020.
  • Pair rowing in Winter/early Spring will require permission from the Captains. Use of pairs will be dependent upon demand for doubles and your experience level.
  • All club equipment use requests go through our Club Captains, Megan Northey and Kelly Johnson. Contact email is Captain@lakewashingtonrowing.com.
  • All Private Boat Storage requests go through Treasurer, Janet Walker. Use the Main Office email
Volunteering at LWRC

LWRC has a long history of volunteer participation. Not all boathouses are managed this way. We like to think of ourselves as a cooperative group of like minded rowers servicing ourselves for the benefit of all. During the pandemic, we didn't push you to follow through with your 10 hours of Volunteer service.  A few super volunteers kept our club running over the last year. Now, we are ready to receive more help from you.

Keep track of your hours on MindBody. Select the Membership, Merch and Volunteer Tab. Then choose "volunter" from the  right side menu. It's like buying something, choose the number of 30 minute segments that add up to your volunteering and follow prompts to completion. Thanks.

Here are a few jobs that you might consider doing. Most are self directed. Contact the Office for the Adopt a Boat and Oar Program and we'll get you started. Thanks!

Adopt a Boat: Choose a club boat to monitor monthly for loose nuts, pitch, dirty tracks, torn shoes, bent skeg and more....We will teach you some useful maintenance skills.

Adopt some Oars: Like the boats, we'd love help adjusting our club oars. Select a group of oars to monitor monthly.

Clean Boat Towels or Gym Towels: We continue to need help cleaning towels. Take a pile home, wash and return at your leisure.

Sweep Outside the Boat Bays: The apron outside the boat bays needs a sweep every month or so. Brooms are near the North Bay.

Clean the Dock: Our Goose friends love to gather and poop on our dock. If you're the first one out in the morning or if there is an obvious need for cleaning, grab a broom and bucket from under the ramp and clean away!
