Dear ILCSW Families,

This week was a great week to celebrate Lutheran Schools! I hope your child(ren) had fun! Thank you to the NLSW team of teachers that planned awesome activities for the whole school! Also, thank you so much for all of the items you donated for organizations in need. They are so grateful.

Below you will find new information for the weeks to come.
Wear Green for St. Patrick's Day- On Wednesday, March 17th all students may wear green and jeans to school.

E-book fair: Shop the fair March 8-21, remember- it’s all online!

https://www.scholastic.com/bf/ilcsw
Our Fair will feature a Virtual Fair walk-through so you and your kids can experience the magic of the school shopping experience: Browse titles by grade, meet popular authors, and much more!   All purchases will benefit our school directly (25% back in rewards!). Don’t miss these two weeks of events, fun, and books!

Principal Disclaimer: I always looked through the materials for the "in person" book fair to try to sift out inappropriate or questionable content. Scholastic is not a Christian company, so PLEASE monitor the books online before you purchase anything. I cannot control what book selection is offered via the online book fair (trust me, I asked).

Volunteer Opportunities:
Staff/Teacher Appreciation Week- Happy (almost) Spring, ILS Families! With warmer, sunnier weather comes the hope of resuming some semblance of normalcy this final quarter of the school year -- and hopefully into next school year! It's hard to believe, but Teacher Appreciation Week is just around the corner, May 3rd-May7th. The Parent Teacher League is seeking parent volunteers to help pull off what we hope to be a fantastic week of celebrating and spoiling our exceptional teachers, after what has undoubtedly been one of the most difficult school years of their careers. If you are interested in helping us plan and/or execute events and gift deliveries to show our teachers the love that they deserve each day that week, please email Katie Vargas at katie.vargas@gmail.com

TWB/Scrip Program:
Since we cannot have a ton of volunteers this year and we aren't having many of our events that require volunteers, we are looking to raise money through our TWB/Scrip program. It really is as easy as just purchasing gift cards to restaurants and stores that you would already eat/shop at. This is a very easy way for you and the school to earn money. Please FastDirect Katie Carter or CeeCee Liefer for more information.

Online Auction:
We would like to look at having an online auction this year. If you are interested in helping with that project. Please email  me at adolak@ilcsw.net.

Standardized Testing Dates: Please mark the following dates on your calendar:
Due to testing parameters, we cannot test at home learners from home.
The standardized testing schedule will be the following:
March 22-26th: 1st through 5th grade testing
March 29th-April 1st: 6th-8th grade testing.

Employment Opportunities:

Campus Business Manager:

Immanuel Wentzville is hiring for the full time position of business manager. This position is a leadership management position and is one of three roles on the Ministry Leadership Team, which also includes the principal and senior pastor.  We are looking for a start date of May 3rd. All the pertinent information can be found in the following link:  http://www.ilcsw.net/church/church_employment.php

Church News:
If you are looking for a church home, please come worship with us. Our in person worship times are 5pm on Saturday, and 8, 9:30 and 11 on Sundays.

Below is the link for our official calendar for the 21-22 school year. As you know, changes can happen, but they will be minimal (if any). Those changes would be announced in July 2021.

Lenten Services

During this season of Lent, we will consider the theme “Return to the Lord” and examine how the call to return played out in practical ways for the people who walked alongside Christ as He demonstrated and carried out God’s grace and mercy on our behalf, taking God’s wrath upon Himself, setting the stage for God to “turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him” (Joel 2:14). Join us for worship on Wednesdays at 3:45pm and 6:45pm during this season of Lent. February 24, March 3, 10, 17, & 24. *All 6:45pm services will be in-person and livestreamed.
