EE 30 Under 30 Nominations Are Now Open NAAEE has opened the search to find 30 game-changing leaders under 30 years of age who are using education to build a sustainable future for all. We know that environmental education and leadership take many different forms. Recognizing the complexity of achieving a sustainable and equitable future, we welcome applicants from across sectors and disciplines. The EE 30 Under 30 Class of 2021 will receive global recognition for their work and join a growing alumni community of inspiring EE leaders, with ongoing opportunities for professional development and networking. Nominations are due May 5 at 11:59pm US Eastern Time. Learn more and submit a nomination here.

Taiwan Awards and Builds Capacity of Young Environmentalists Taiwan's EcoCampus program continues to thrive, this year awarding several schools top honors. Learn more here. Global Survey of Teachers by UNESCO If you are a teacher in primary or secondary education, consider sharing your input with UNESCO, who is looking to better understand teacher readiness to integrate education for sustainable development into their teaching. The survey is available in 12 languages and is open until April 25, 2021. It should take about 30-40 minutes to complete, and teachers are encouraged to share within their networks! New FEE Course: Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development The amazing team at the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) has launched a new course through FEE Academy. The course introduces learners to the basic foundations of Environmental Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), including the origins of EE and ESD and the educational processes connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The course offers insights and tools from experts in the fields of EE and ESD. Learn more and sign up here.

EECOM 2021: Exploring the Nature of Cities Registration is open for EECOM 2021, Canada’s largest annual national environmental education conference. EECOM 2021 will take place exclusively online, April 21-24, 2021, and welcomes educators, students (grade 11 through post-secondary), classrooms, community organizations, and parents. The conference's three days of dynamic sessions and workshops will focus on four themes: City as Classroom, Indigenous Education, EcoJustice Education, and Water Education. 30th International Congress for Conservation Biology The Society for Conservation Biology's 30th International Congress for Conservation Biology (ICCB 2021) will take place December 12-16, 2021, and invites conservation researchers, students, educators, and practitioners to join for lively discussions on the theme, The Future is Now: Sustaining biodiversity for today and tomorrow. ICCB is accepting proposals for oral and poster presentations through April 27. Learn more here.
JSFEE Survey on Experiential Learning The Japanese Society for Environmental Education (JSFEE) seeks input from the global outdoor and environmental education community about the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on experiential learning. JSFEE plans to share about these collective experiences with higher education institutions and environmental educators around the world. Share your input here.
WWF Conservation in the Classroom Series Bring conservation and science to life by giving children the opportunity to hear from WWF scientists and experts. Through free, 45-minute live-streamed events, students can hear WWF experts' stories about protecting species and habitats around the world, and even submit questions and interact with the experts. Wayfinder Society This go-at-your-own-pace resource is for students looking to start their journey or take the next step in addressing the urgent and multidisciplinary issue of plastic pollution. Students can earn points, receive feedback and mentorship from experts, network with peers through monthly hangout sessions, and apply for award money to fund their community projects or further their education. NZ Science Learning Hub Resources on te repo (Wetlands) A recent collaboration between the New Zealand Government's Science Learning Hub and Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research produced a unique suite of resources focused on te repo that explore concepts such as monitoring, cultural indicators, biodiversity, ecosystem interrelationships, and restoration. Some of resources are in te reo Māori sharing mātauranga Maōri, and some are in English, providing a wealth of understanding and knowledge. Browse the resources here.
Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust Home Learning Hub With another lockdown in full swing, the WWT knows how hard teachers are working to provide high-quality remote learning while retaining an element of fun. Their online learning hub includes a full learning programme, including short fun activities and quizzes that can be dipped into at any time, and 'make it activities’ to learn how to make anything from a mini pond to a water cycle in a jar. Youth Leaders Driving Watershed Education and Conservation Initiatives in Puerto Rico Around the world, our water resources face a diverse array of threats and challenges. To meet these challenges, Sean Russell, EE 30 Under 30 Changemaker Grantee, is helping to equip young people in Puerto Rico to engage their communities to take action to monitor and protect their local waterways through the EarthEcho Water Challenge.
