At South End School we want children to

Become Resourceful
We support children to develop their own initiative and creativity, by fostering innovation, guiding decision making and embracing problem solving through risk taking.

What's up?

CLUSTER SWIMMING -We had a good crew head down to the Carterton Pool for a Cluster Swimming event with a COVID level 2 twist. Each school went individually to swim their events and get timed. From this group of students we have 14 children attending the next level - South Wairarapa Swimming event to be held on Monday 15th March. We wish them all well.
Our Year 5- Year 8 students enjoyed their day at Wings over Wairarapa.  A huge thank you to Ka Pai Carterton for sponsoring our buses. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
The dental bus have moved on - see you next year.  The closest bus now is at Greytown School.

South End School - Important Information

Reminder, we are a Water Only School. We encourage all students to have a water bottle with them at school. If a child brings another type of drink to school the teachers will take the drink off them and give it back at the end of the day, to take home.

Change of address, phone number or any other vital information
Please notify us immediately if there is a change of parent/guardian, address, phone number, emergency number or doctor. In cases of sickness or accident, we need to contact parents immediately and this information is of vital importance.
Hats

During the summertime: Compulsory Hats. No hat, No play! Please make sure that your child has a sun smart hat in their bag to use each day. We have a supply of school hats for sports days ONLY. For health reasons we need children to supply their own NAMED, SUN SMART hat.
Open door policy

At South End School we have an "open door" policy - parents are encouraged to keep in contact with the class teacher to discuss any questions regarding the education of their children. Early intervention, and prompt action, can prevent small problems from becoming major issues. If necessary, parents are welcome to see the Principal about any school matter, either by making an appointment (by email or through the School Administrator), or just by dropping by.
