NICOLA VALLEY
COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL

Building Community through the Arts

Hello there <<First Name>>,
...we're powered by you!
"The arts empower. The arts give a voice to the voiceless. The arts help transform communities and, as I often say, the result can be a better child, a better town, a better nation, and certainly a better world. Let’s champion our arts action heroes, emulate them and make our communities everything we want them to be.”
~ Robert L. Lynch, President, Americans for the Arts
We've launched the new Nicola Valley Arts Centre Website!

www.nicolavalleyarts.com is still evolving, however, we are thrilled to be able to offer up to date content and present a design that reflects the creative talent here in our community.

Message from our new program chair, Susan Parkinson

For the past few months, the Studio has been a busy place every Wednesday with the Forging Connection Group. This group consists of 4-5 participants each week. Their creative accomplishments in the gallery starting May 5th.

Arts Council President Mischelle Pierce has been busy coordinating with artists and budding artists, who are learning glass art with Twin Willows, painting with Shirley Reynold, drumming with Raven Richie, pottery with Roz Ware, and drawing with Jean Kiegerl.

This month, in April, you can experience the joys of poetry reading with Megan from the Library.   Admire poetry? Catch the Paris Review interview with Spencer Reece, "Poems Are Spiritual Suitcases".

Join us and connect with the Arts!

New show coming: MSS Graduating Show!
We are used to the School District Arts Festival happening in April, and we’ll miss all the action this year because of Covid. So we are glad we can keep up with our MSS exhibition at least! Apr 14-May 2. I’ve seen some of the art coming!
