Announcements

Our next meeting will be held March 26th from 12 to 1 pm EST.
Zoom line here. Meeting password: 123

MiCCA member Larry Junck will speak at our March Meeting!
With 46K students, 51K employees, and a $9B budget, U-M is a big enterprise.  What would it take to make it carbon neutral? Larry Junck will provide an overview of the ambitious proposal it is examining, including hopes that some aspects can be generalized to other universities and organizations.
Thank you to MiCCA member, Kailey Kanaziz RN, for all she does for our organization and her community!
Kailey is an RN on an inpatient adult general medical unit. She has always believed that if we really want to have a substantial and enduring impact on our patients we have to be willing to advocate for healthy environments outside of the hospital and clinic walls. She also strongly believes in the power of collective action, which is why she joined MiCCA and Citizens’ Climate Lobby.
Kailey has spent the last few weeks preparing material for MiCCA’s exhibit booth at the upcoming ANA-MI conference. Like her fellow members here at MiCCA, Kailey is alarmed by the human health costs of climate change and believe healthcare professionals are a crucial voice in this conversation. It is her hope that nurses will walk away from our exhibit with an increased awareness that our climate crisis is in fact a public health crisis and feeling empowered to join us and take action.

MiCCA recognizes Kailey for her work to make our ANA-MI exhibit at the annual conference exceptional. Check out the MiCCA video Kailey made here. Thank you to Kailey for all her work and ongoing support!
