This month we are looking into sponsoring one or more youth sports teams. These teams will need help with either equipment or rental of the gyms they are playing at. We are focusing on those run through villages or other associations since school teams are already funded. Your Board is doing their due diligence on narrowing down the deserving teams. Stay tuned!
On the topic of sports, our guest speaker this week is Guam MMA legend, Roque Martinez. He will be talking about the Mixed Martial Arts community on Guam. Over the past decade, there has been an explosion of training gyms and youth participation in this sport. He can give us an insight as to what direction Guam’s MMA community is moving and why there is great interest in the sport.
