Kumantje (M.N.) Jagamara 
1946 - 2020

 
On Wednesday 10 March over 500 people - family, friends, and colleagues - gathered in Alice Springs to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Kumantje Jagamara, renowned Australian artist, Warlpiri Elder, and a leader of the Papunya community.

Kumantje Jagamara's contributions to the Australian art world have been recently reported in an online article by ABC News, and can be read here.

Currently on show at University of Queensland Art Museum is Occurrent Affair, an exhibition of works by artist collective proppaNOW, including FireWorks Gallery represented artists Laurie Nilsen and Jennifer Herd. Jennifer's rainforest shield designs adorn the glass facade of the James and Mary Emelia Mayne Centre, with the exhibition running until 19 June 2021.
