Welcome to the March MAPS supporters newsletter
As we write this newsletter, many of our young people are in the process of returning to school for the first time this year. Over the next few weeks, many of our mentoring pairs will be talking about returning to school, and this makes our young people feel, as well as processing their experience of lockdown.

|
There are many excellent resources that provide some prompts and hints for anyone having these conversations and we've included some that might be useful for our mentors:
Barnardo's Returning to School Life After Lockdown
(primary school age range)
Young Minds
(secondary school age range)
We would like to thank all our MAPS mentors who are doing such a fantastic job of continuing to support their young people, whether its meeting virtually or for walk and talk sessions with their young people. We have had great feedback from social workers thanking our mentors for spending quality time with some of our most complex and introverted young people during this pandemic - what you do is so appreciated.
Everyone is being really imaginative with using technology during mentoring sessions, but if you need any technical help or support, or you know of a young person who needs a laptop, please get in touch with the MAPS team.
