Gardening time is close at hand, and our Fidalgo Grows blog returns Monday, March 15 to help you grow your best. Today we offer a pre-season bonus post!

There's a wealth of gardening expertise on our island, and we're looking forward to bringing it to you through weekly how-to posts. Peter Heffelfinger, who has grown food here for over 40 years and who graciously let us follow along in his garden last season, will post a TWIG (This Week In the Garden) every Monday at https://www.transitionfidalgo.org/fidalgogrows/. We'll send you a reminder when the blog has sprouted!

For now, if you've ever yearned to turn more of your grass into a glorious garden, check out Julia Frisbie's adventure transforming an Anacortes lawn into an abundance of veggies, fruits and flowers. It's inspiring, and really makes you wonder - why mow when you can grow?

Finally, if you're a gardener with any tips or special projects you'd like to share, drop us a line at info@transitionfidalgo.org. We're happy to include as many voices as possible in Fidalgo Grows.

See you where pandemics fade as plants flourish - in the garden!
