Web Foundation

Hi there,

Tomorrow marks 32 years since the web was invented. It is a celebration for our Web Foundation and for us all.

As we look ahead to what’s next, for the web and for the world, our opportunity to build a better future depends on a web that is infused with everyone’s talent, energy and ideas — particularly young people who are so often leaders of change.

So, to celebrate this year’s birthday, we’ll be spotlighting nine young web champions who are using digital technology to tackle gender inequality, curb Covid-19, protect the environment and address other global challenges — and we want you to be involved.

We’ll be asking you to give social media shout-outs to #WebChampions you know, to add to those we’re spotlighting, in a celebration of all the young people using the web to shape a better world.

You’ll receive details about how to get involved first thing tomorrow, along with our open letter calling for a global push to connect the billions of young people who remain unable to access the web’s benefits.

Thank you for your support, and stay tuned.
