Making a Difference in March
Wow 2021 is cruising along! Here we are in the month of March and I pose this question, how are you making a difference?
1Peter 4:10 "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace."
Unstoppable You Ministries hosted several events in the month of January, in support of National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. We hosted a Virtual Living Unshackled ON Purpose episode with our special guests Justice C. Maddox, her daughter Co'Trika Maddox, and veteran Mary Kate Soliva. These extraordinary ladies are anti-human trafficking advocates serving in the trenches to rescue victims. To watch the video, visit: http://youtu.be/5Q1tNMnJnKI.
We also partnered with the dynamic duo paint artists of S&L Mobile Paint Night, LLC and hosted our second Virtual Paint Party Fundraiser. The theme was self-love. It was simply amazing to see women from around the country participate for a worthy cause.
Last but not least, through the entire month of January UYM and more than 100 supporters filled in the cracks in four states and Puerto Rico using the Red Sand Project. This was a creative way to start the conversation about human trafficking awareness. Thank you to everyone who supported and continued to educate and empower people about this horrible nightmare.

February was National Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness Month and the ribbon color is orange. UYM posted weekly statistics and resources to combat this problem that plagues our youth. Did you know 1 in 11 teen females and 1 in 15 teen males reported experiencing physical violence in the last year? Did you know that about 1 in 9 female and 1 in 36 male high school students report having experienced sexual dating violence in the last year.
If you are a parent, guardian, youth leader, social worker, health care provider, educator, and everyone in between, you should care because you can make a difference. Take the time to talk about healthy boundaries, self-love, self-esteem, and provide an example of what a healthy relationship looks like. Help your teen to know that their body is a temple and should not be abused and misused. Teach them when they are teens so they won't struggle with relationships when they are older.
