Travel is slowly opening up and YWAM locations are again starting to welcome Mission Builder volunteers to help as we navigate our second year with a global pandemic. Are you ready to break out of quarantine and go somewhere new? Consider lending your hands to kingdom work!
To get you started, here are three locations that have their welcome mat out now. Central Baja, Mexico – YWAM Vicente Guerrero
YWAM Vicente Guerrero is located 200 miles south of San Diego, California, on the beautiful Baja peninsula. This ministry has a vision for local community outreach and working alongside other ministries in the area. Located in an agricultural area with 80 different people groups, this is a pioneering opportunity for those who like new, novel, and different things.
Norway – YWAM Nordland
Love helping children and youth? This ministry provides a safe atmosphere for young people to learn, make good friends, and become confident in who they are as children of God. YWAM is involved in the village and nearby communities, helping in schools and hosting youth clubs and camps. They’ve also started a café to serve their neighbors. They specifically need people with renovation skills for their facilities and those willing to help in practical ways. In the spring and summer, those with gardening and landscaping skills would be most welcome!
Peru – YWAM Ica
Ica is an arid, desert-like area but also very rich in farms. Harvest season is in February with lots of grapes, mangos, avocados, pecans, etc. YWAM Ica focuses on weekly community outreach, going to the five surrounding communities to help meet children and youth’s needs. Many latch key children and over 2000 teenagers are within reach. They also rebuild or add functionality (kitchen, bath, running water) to some existing homes, primarily for widows and single mothers. They welcome medical personnel for their August clinic and dentists who can come equipped to work with the village young people in June. On the campus, they need help with facilities management, scheduling, and accounting and will soon have a van and will need a driver.
