The Need to Process and Support

Loss is a part of life, but suffering alone does not have to be. The Ahlulbayt (a.s.) have emphasised the importance of grieving and processing loss, but not everyone is able to do so effectively. Join us for this workshop where we will breakdown the stages in which one can help a loved one, a friend, a community member, or oneself cope with grief and navigate the bereavement process.

Please note that for the purposes of supervision as well as self-reflective work on your new-found skills, there will be a follow-up reflection circle that you will be required to attend.

LIMITED SPACES. Click here for registration.

NB: Due to the high demand and limited spaces, your registration indicates your commitment to attend this session. Last-minute cancellations and no shows are a waste of community resources.

CoEJ's first Adult Mental Health First Aid Course
CoEJ held its first Adult Mental Health First Aid course last weekend, which was facilitated by Brother Ammar Farishta of Fitrus Training and CoEJ Councillor Mariam Hassam of Revive VSG. The workshop was completely overbooked and alhamdulillah received highly positive feedback. Click on the video above to see what our brilliant participants had to say.

Some of the feedback included:

"It’s been a really good course and enjoyed all the activities that enable us to understand the different areas."

"I thought I knew and could support people who has had experienced ill mental health, but I realise now my mistakes and how I could have supported better."

"Both course trainers are absolutely brilliant. They delivered the course to the highest level and professionalism. I wish the course was longer. They made it easier to understand and involved everyone. An excellent interactive session, I cannot speak highly of the trainers - an asset to us all."

Over the course of the coming weeks, CoEJ aims to share more of what the participants learned through the course and provide awareness on topics of mental health.

Congratulations to all the participants on successfully becoming Mental Health First Aiders. Thank you for taking this brave step to go above and beyond to support your community, those around you, and most importantly, yourselves!
