Dear friends,

Every morning is a fresh start. When you wake up, those early morning hours (or minutes) before you begin your day are the perfect opportunity to re-align your mind and body and set yourself up for success.

This week, we’re all about committing to healthy mornings. Start the day with calm and clarity by using our mindful bed-making ritual as a form of moving meditation; relieve stress and anxiety while warming-up your muscles and joints with low-impact bed yoga; and for breakfast, try cooking up these plant-based versions of your favorite breakfast foods. This Monday, become a morning person.

Turn Your Mattress into a Yoga Mat

Exercising from bed sounds too good to be true, but with bed yoga, it’s possible to start your morning with a rejuvenating workout from the comfort of your mattress.

Yoga is a form physical activity that combines stretching with light, flowing movements. Practicing yoga can help improve range of motion and circulation, as well as relieve stress and anxiety. Yoga requires the synchronization of movement and breath, and this alignment of body and mind is the perfect way to ease into the day.

Turn Bed Making into a Moving Meditation

Because we live such busy lives, we often do most routine household tasks distractedly. But a recent study showed that when college students were asked to wash dishes with mindful awareness, they reported feeling less nervous, less negative, and more inspired to complete the task. This means we can use a simple chore like making our bed as an actual meditation — to slow down our thoughts, become more mindful, and enjoy just being in the present moment.

Try this mindfulness meditation.

Plant-based Breakfast Recipes So Good, You'll Make Them for Dinner

When it comes to meal time, flexibility is freedom. Because, despite how it appears, there are no formal rules dictating what you should eat or when should you eat it. Miso soup for breakfast? Pancakes for dinner? Tofu-scramble burrito with a side of hash browns for lunch?

This Monday, be an outlaw, and play around with plant-based recipes that you can happily eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert.
We hope these ideas help you refresh and reinvigorate your Monday and inspire you to stay well the rest of the week. We'll see you again next Monday!
