We made it to another key marker -- spring break!

This week, all the students completed their winter progress checks, and the team is busy using all we learned -- and all the students shared -- to plan the final Micro Modules of the year, which begin right after spring break.

We're excited for students to take the next important step in their journey of self-directed learning. Stay tuned for more details about these Micros when we return!

In this edition of the Thursday Note:
  1. Spring Break Travel Guidelines
  2. Communications Survey Update
  3. Pop-up shop Closes Tomorrow
  4. News from around Hawken
  5. Highlight of the Week

Spring Break Travel Guidelines

For those of you traveling over Spring Break, be sure to review our Spring Break Travel Guidelines.

You may have noticed a change yesterday in the Ohio Board of Health protocols. They are no longer issuing weekly travel advisories; rather they refer you to CDC guidelines.

While the CDC offers very valuable information about travel precautions, their quarantine requirements for travel are more severe than the Ohio Board of Health previously announced.

We want to clarify that our protocols remain unchanged and aligned with previous BOH guidance. Families should practice COVID safe behaviors (see CDC site for guidance) and should avoid areas with positivity rates of 15 percent or higher.

We have used this site to help guide us on positivity rates.  We continue to ask, as we have all year, that families doing international travel follow the quarantining protocols the CDC outlines here.

Communications Survey Update

Thanks you for taking a few minutes to share your perspective on our communications efforts. Here's a bit of what we heard. We'll use this feedback as we make our plans for future communications. If you have additional thoughts, don't hesitate to send us a note at mastery@hawken.edu.

Gifts to the Hawken Fund support the people and programs that make Hawken so special – talented faculty, small class sizes, innovative programming, co-curricular activities, etc. Every family is invited to participate and every gift makes a difference!
