I've been at it for a month now.

This is the airport SOAR is based at.
I've learned a lot this past month, but am still just getting my toes wet.
Here's a little summary of what I've been learning about: bucking rivets, how to safety wire, working with sheet metal, how to change the oil and filter and inspect them for signs of engine wear, how to preform a cylinder leak-down test, how to remove/disassemble and inspect wheels and bearings, how to tug a plane, how to remove the engine cowling, the anatomy of planes, the different kind of propellers, the different types of engines, the different types of planes, and a slew of aviation jargon and acronyms (i.e.- Zulu and STC).
Proof that I'm actually working on planes
So far I'm really enjoying my time at SOAR. I get along well with my co-workers, and they're very good at teaching me what I need to know.
Last week, I got to fly in one of SOAR's planes with my co-worker Phillip.
It was pretty fantastic!

Aside from my training, I've been visiting churches to find one to join during my time here. I think I found one.
I've also done some exploring around Bolivar and it seems like a nice town.
The people are friendly, and the scenery it pretty.

Last month I got to meet someone who has completed SOAR and joined Ethnos360 Aviation. He is now in Papua New Guinea as a maintenance specialist. He informed me that Ethnos360 sent him off for special training to work on helicopters. So if I join Ethnos360, like he did, I'll likely get to work on helicopters as well as planes someday.

Well, that’s all the news I have for now. Thanks for praying for me and supporting me!
