The Garden
The Bishop of Norwich's historic private garden is full of delights such as herbaceous borders, a small woodland walk, bee hives and more. The garden is run organically and includes a herb garden, long herbaceous borders, ‘jungle’ walk, large wildflower labyrinth and fruit orchard, extensive shrubberies containing many rare and unusual plants, among these being a Hebe planted from a sprig taken from Queen Victoria’s wedding bouquet in 1840. There is a kitchen garden, a bamboo walk and a popular plant sales area, and the garden continues to evolve with new plants and features being introduced year by year.
The Matthew Project Charity
The Matthew Project  is a value driven charity based in East Anglia working in innovative ways with adults, young people and communities affected by drugs and alcohol, poor mental health and veterans with PTSD. Through the Matthew Project's varied services, young people and adults receive professional advice, information, counselling, support, care and education.
The Matthew Project has workers based in both rural and urban areas and takes place in a variety of settings including schools, youth venues, police stations, courts, in the community (including our allotment pictured here) and at our own premises. We work with the individual but also worried parents, carers and young people whose parents use drugs or alcohol.

The Day
Take time to walk around this beautiful setting and  listen to live piano music played on our very own TMP piano.
For the little ones, join our wildlife QR treasure hunt with ten clues hidden around the garden. Each clue is in the form of a QR code so open the camera app on your smartphone and scan to find the hidden wildlife! On exit of the garden, tell us the names of all ten animals to claim a TMP bookmark and some sunflower seeds to bring sunshine into your garden this year.
Local photographer Claire O'Hara will be available on the day for portraits (Time TBC), with pictures available to purchase via her website afterwards.
Most importantly, don't forget to grab yourself a takeaway hot or cold drink and some of our home made cake. Then find yourself a spot in the garden to relax. All funds raised from the sales of refreshments will go back into our charity.
Plant and some other sales using a contactless card, or ‘cash in bucket’, system will be operating.
Social distancing, a one-way system and hand sanitising will all be observed with numbers  limited to entry at 10.30am, 12.30pm, and 2.30pm for a 90 minute period. Please book the slot that suits you best.

SESSION ONE: 10.30 - 12pm
SESSION TWO: 12.30 - 2pm
SESSION THREE: 2.30 - 4pm

Admission price is £5 per adult and accompanied children under 16 years and wheelchair users are free. Assistance Dogs only. Please ensure you choose the correct ticket. We only need to check your name for entry.
There is a small pay and display car park outside the entrance and a larger pay and display car park a few further yards down, just off Bishopgate and opposite the Adam and Eve pub. Please note that parking is not available on site. However wheelchair users can be dropped off and collected. Toilet facilities will be available for use.
