Free Up Your Playing

Log-in daily for an online open class, followed by a 45 minute individual lesson in the afternoon to explore issues that stop you playing as well as you can: including physical tension; performance anxiety; or just the feeling that you want to express yourself better. A fun course looking at serious issues. As no-one is rehearsing or performing with others at the moment it might be an ideal time to look at some more neglected aspects of playing in order to hit the ground running when we all return.

Piano Duet Day with Nigel and Imma

This “Virtual Piano Duet Day” tries to bring the joy of exploring and playing music for piano four-hands to the comfort of your own homes. The day will start with a workshop led by the tutors on the complete Faure’s Dolly Suite, followed by one-to-one session on your (and your partner’s) duet part. The tutors will also host a virtual bar at the end where we all can chat and discuss all things piano duet over a glass of something (of course with a virtual quiz!).

Duets - Play with a Pro!

A five-day online flute course for baroque and modern flautists, looking at repertoire for two flutes. All duets will have a pre-recorded 2nd flute / (recorder and cello) part performed by the course tutors. Baroque duets by De La Barre & J.S.Bach, offering advice on ornamentation and style. Haydn – including an in-depth look at The Creation (recordings on classical 8 keyed flute at A=430 on request) and 3 spectacular miniatures by Delibes taken from the ballet and opera.
