This nice weather has us thinking about SUMMER! There is finally a light at the end of this brutal winter's tunnel and we see BOOKS for kids in need there. But, we need your help to make it happen!
As you may recall, Womenade of Elkhorn partnered with Girl Scout Kate Lembree a few years ago to start the Busy Bee Reading Club to get books in the hands of kids in need over the summer. Summer reading is essential for back-to-school success so Kate created this program to make books available to kids who might not otherwise have access to keep their brains sharp and challenged over the summer.
This year, instead of collecting used books, we have partnered with Scholastic Books to get a GREAT deal on NEW books to give to K-5th Grade kids who are utilizing our Backpack Program.
Just $5 can help us get books in the hands of kids in need - but we need to get those ordered soon so they they receive them by summer break. Would you please consider making a donation to help?
We are truly grateful for all of your support - for our current programs and as we add or improve them! We are hoping to be able to gather with our supporters and Guild Members more in 2021 - either through events or in volunteering together!
