Dr Patrick Pollock

Back by popular demand!!! Dr Patrick Pollock will be joining us online next Wednesday, the 10th of March, to provide an update on his work with 'Honey and Healing Horse Wounds.'
Patrick is a Senior Lecturer in Equine Surgery at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, at The University of Edinburgh. He is involved with a number of projects around the world with working equidae, including training vets and equid owners in resource limited settings. His clinical and research interests include equine poor performance, the upper airway, ophthalmic surgery, trauma and wound healing.
In addition to this, he is a keen beekeeper and introduced the teaching of Bee Husbandry and Disease to the undergraduate veterinary curriculum. On Wednesday Patrick will be sharing details and updates on his work on the antimicrobial activity of various honeys when treating equine wounds.
