30 November 2011

Hello everyone,
The end of the year is fast approaching and there are a number of upcoming events to mention.
Sumner-Redcliffs Community Carols is taking place for the second year running in Scarborough Park (weather permitting) on Thursday 8 December 2011. The community barbecue begins at 6 pm and the Sumner Silver Band will play some light music from around 6.30 pm. The massed singing, with a visit from a not-so-mysterious stranger, kicks off at 6.45 pm. The event features the Sumner Silver Band, the Sumner School Choir and other acts, and should be a very fun, family event. Everyone is very welcome to come and join us. For Redcliffs folk who don’t have vehicles, there will be transport arranged to take you down to Scarborough Park from the Redcliffs Community Information Centre.

Redcliffs Community Men’s Shed group is meeting for a discussion about the concept on Friday 9 December at 10.30 am in the Redcliffs Information Centre. Blokes who are keen to get involved in this project are most welcome to join us. Check out http://menssheds.org.nz/to find out more about these types of projects.

Mini Music Sumner Christmas Breakup will be held on Tuesday December 13 at the Sumner Union Church.
Mini Music Redcliffs Christmas Breakup will be held on Thursday December 15 at the Redcliffs Union Church, 9.30 am.

On Thursday 15 December Coffee & Conversation will join with the Beryl McCombs Memorial Kidsfirst (Redcliffs)Kindergarten for their Christmas Party. By then we will have had three terms with the kindergarten on site.

Regular working bees are being held in the Redcliffs Community Garden on a fortnightly basis. Bailey Peryman is coordinating these in partnership with the regular gardeners. As the last one was held on November 26, the next one will be held on December 10, 10 am – 12 pm. Contact Bailey on pbperyman@gmail.comfor further information.
