World book day

On world book day the young people had a fantastic Read and Discussion session.

A new partnership

Pancake day!

Building Futures celebrated Pancake day by making pancakes on an open fire in the snow. Doesn’t get much more exciting than that!

Julia, one of our fantastic buddies make very smiley pancakes wither her daughter.

And April one of our brilliant young people worked hard and made yummy pancakes with her mum!

Well done!

We are very sad to see Martin and Rachel go, and we wish them all the best!

Welcome to the team

Vincent, Vicky and Rachell, we are very excited and happy to have you at halow!

Change in contract

Harriet we are very happy that you are staying on with us as an outreach buddy! Congratulations on your new job!

Mel left for maternity leave on the 3rd of March and she wanted to leave a lovely message for everyone.
(We miss you already Mel)

Those that know me, know that I am an adventurer at heart and my partner and I are so excited about the one we are about to embark upon. Even though it’s sad that I won’t be able to finish off the year with the fabulous Year AT, I know that they will go on to do great things and continue to thrive. I can’t wait to hear all about it!
In the meantime, we will be very much looking forward to the arrival of our little one and all of the fun times ahead.
Good luck to everyone during these unusual and testing times. Hopefully, the end is in sight now. I wish you all the very best 😊

Siona Booth will be stepping up to cover the assistant manager role for the maternity period - congratulations again, Siona.

New staff inductions

With great excitement, we welcomed three new members of staff to halow on Tuesday 23^rd February and they were the first to attend our new online induction morning! Jonny Wells, Deputy Care Manager and Clare Lawrance, Recruitment and Training Coordinator, worked together to design a new introductory session to give staff an overview of the charity, meet members of the team, get to know the services halow offer and see what support, training and career opportunities lie ahead for them. The new induction will now run once a month or so followed by visits to other team activities and observation sessions that will help new staff settle into their roles.

Love halow online

Wow Building Future's love halow posters are full the brim with things they love about halow. What a lovely positive session everyone had.

Charcoal Creations

In a Crafty Creations session with Watt's Gallery, the group learnt about Victorian art and did some fun drawing exercises using watercolour pencils and charcoal. Beautiful drawings everyone!
