On March 8, the Geological Society of America is hosting a webinar on hydrogeology careers. Geoscientists hold many positions in hydrogeology, and career opportunities include roles in academia, federal government, state government, regulatory agencies, environmental consulting companies, and policy making. The webinar panelists will introduce you to careers in these areas, answer your questions, and offer advice in preparation for a career in hydrogeology.

The USGS Utah Water Science Center is seeking undergraduate and graduate level students working towards a degree in Hydrology to gain practical experience in conducting hydrologic studies.
As a Student Trainee (Hydrology) you will serve in a trainee capacity, performing routine and recurring development assignments to acquire knowledge and understanding of functions, principles, practices, and methods in groundwater hydrology with emphasis in groundwater modelling.

Job Opportunity - GIS Specialist
|
|
Box Elder County is hiring a GIS Specialist/Survey Technician.
This person will work under the direction of the County Recorder/Surveyor to perform all GIS operations regarding mapping needs as directed. Do all mapping from GPS data collections and county mapping using GIS procedures. This person will work with the GIS program for all departments, as approved by supervisors, will review subdivisions, annexations, and some parcel splits. The person will assist the County Surveyor Department.

GETUP Summer Research Experience
|
|
The GETUP Summer Research Experience is for first and second year undergraduate students (students who have less than 30 credits) to gain experience with Earth and Environmental Science Research. This summer's research will focus on the Great Salt Lake, using the lake as a living laboratory, and will run from July 25 - Aug. 20, 2021.
Students will:
- Learn to take and analyze samples.
- Use various advanced microscopy facilities.
- Serve as peer mentors for students in the Summer Bridge Program.
- Present their results at an end-of-summer research symposium.
- Learn to conduct their own research.
