Survey of Teachers for LGBTQ+ History Workshop

The PA LGBT+ History Network is currently exploring the idea of offering a training workshop for social studies and history teachers in Pennsylvania on the topic of teaching LGBTQ+ history.

This workshop will include presenters highlighting the LGBTQ+ history resources that are available in Pennsylvania archives and other institutions, showcasing sample lesson plans and course curricula, and leading a discussion about preparing similar lesson plans and curricula. The workshop will be offered virtually over Zoom and we plan to offer it free of charge.

Survey of Teachers for LGBTQ+ History Workshop

The PA LGBT+ History Network is a group of more than 100 individuals and representatives of institutions with an interest in LGBTQ+ history in Pennsylvania. We are currently exploring the idea of offering a training workshop for social studies and history teachers at the secondary school level on the topic of teaching LGBTQ+ history. This workshop would include presenters discussing what LGBTQ+ history resources are available in Pennsylvania institutions, a presentation of a sample lesson plan prepared to accompany a digital and traveling exhibit on LGBTQ+ history in Pennsylvania, and a discussion of how you can prepare similar lesson plans. The workshop would be offered virtually over Zoom. Please answer a few brief survey questions so we can determine if there is sufficient interest in this type of workshop.
