Sound and traffic impacts:
March 8 - March 12 filtration pipeline drilling activity updated

Estimated locations and dates for drilling activity is available for the week of March 8, 2021 at portland.gov/filtration_activity.

To prepare for design of the new pipelines that will connect to the Facility, workers will be drilling in the area to gather information about soil conditions, through mid-April. Drilling at the facility site is expected to begin shortly after the pipeline drilling is completed.

There will be significant noise during the drilling, typically ranging from 70 to 80 dBA (similar to the sound of a medium-sized tractor).

The field work will be limited to 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and the drilling is anticipated to take a few days at each location.
